The Marriott Wardman Park Hotel Complex, the largest hotel
in Washington, DC, is located off Woodley Road in Northwest,
Washington, DC. The historic hotel underwent major renovations
including development of a new west tower, a new parking
garage, and a vertical expansion to an existing loading
dock. GeoConcepts conducted the subsurface investigation
for the proposed additions. The subsurface investigation
required extensive coordination with hotel personnel to
limit the disturbance to hotel guests. During construction,
GeoConcepts provided full time observations and testing
services. GeoConcepts was recently contracted to design
and develop plans and specifications for retaining walls
at the site.
