The Home Depot site is currently improved with a residential
structure and several barn structures, while the majority
of the site consists of open fields with some minor wooded
areas. GeoConcepts completed a geotechnical engineering
study for a one-story 102,500 SF building, associated
loading docks, retaining walls, surface paving and utilities
are proposed at the site. Additionally, concrete pads were
proposed for a 28,000 SF Garden Center, a loading
dock area, a 7,000 SF seasonal sales area, a 6,400
SF lumber area, and 3,000 SF of storage
area. A retaining wall is planned for the site with wall
heights of up to 23 feet. Subsurface conditions were investigated
using 74 soil test borings, and the information obtained
was utilized in the geotechnical engineering study and
the design of the retaining wall.
