The site is located along the south side of Duke Street,
between Georges Lane and Holland Lane in Alexandria, Virginia.
The site was previously developed with a 1-story retail
shopping center with associated surface parking. The new
construction consists of a 4-story mixed-use building,
with three levels of below grade parking. A Whole Foods
Market is located on the first level, with The Royalton
condominiums on the top three levels. GeoConcepts completed
an engineering analysis based on several previous site
investigations completed by various companies for different
development plans. GeoConcepts also completed an environmental
study due to the subsurface contamination located at the
site from prior uses. During construction of the project,
GeoConcepts provided materials testing services.
