The development on the border of Alexandria City and Arlington
County includes high quality mixed-use communities with
over 4.7 million SF of office space, two new hotels,
235,000 SF of neighborhood retail space, and approximately
2,700 residential units, along with a new Town Center and
a 25-acre park. In addition, the development also includes
a new 600-feet bridge that will realign U.S. Route 1. GeoConcepts
conducted several subsurface investigations that included
over 135 soil test borings. The bridge design was completed
in accordance with VDOT design requirements. GeoConcepts
provided environmental services related to the construction
of the trunk sewer, and construction materials testing
services during the development of the roadways and utility
infrastructure on the Arlington County portion of the site.
