This new facility will house the Maryland State Highway Administration’s Office of Materials (OMT) and the Office of Construction (OOC) and will occupy the vacant property at the South end of the Administration’s Hanover Complex. The design build project includes a 93,000 SF materials testing laboratory and office building, a vehicle calibration building, a pole storage lot, an outdoor pavilion / picnic area, extensive landscape, associated site work, roadways and parking areas. The laboratory portion of the facility is comprised of five different functional areas: Asphalt, Chemical, Concrete, Soils and Structural Materials.
