The project consists of the development of a 280-acre high-tech biomedical research campus in Loudoun County, Virginia designed by world-class architect Rafael Vinoly. The facility will include 760,000 SF of new labs, offices, an auditorium, an in-house hotel, underground parking, and research rooms. Construction of the research campus is being completed at a cost of $500 million. The campus will house a permanent research staff of up to 300 scientists who will research biomedical issues. The centerpiece of the project is a 610,000 SF research building with a vivarium utilizing green architecture.
